The test completed but there were no successful results.
Hi
Thought I would start a new post rather then hijack someone else's. I have read through a lot of posts with this theme and I have made all the checks listed, but I still have a problem where the browser (IE10) launches, but the test then stops and shows that there are no results, then the browser closes. This is using urlblast, as I had no success with wptdriver at all - wouldnt detect the agent. Have you installed dummynet on the client?

I read through a number of postings about Dummynet issues, so I set connectivity=LAN to disable using dummynet (see http://www.webpagetest.org/forums/showth...hp?tid=456) To be honest I had this working on my old laptop and didnt set-up Dummynet to do so, so I believe I shouldn't necessarily need it on my new one. RE: The test completed but there were no successful results.
If you are testing IE 10 you should really go back to wptdriver and we should see if we can get that working instead (and make sure to grab the latest agent). IE 10 and later aren't officially supported in URLBlast (though they should at least still work).
When you launch IE manually, do you get a prompt requesting to enable any plugins? Also check the tools->Manage Add-ons (or something like that) to make sure the WPT plugin is enabled. |

The good news is that I did get wptdriver to work - I commented out the Installer code, however, now the test runs but closes my Chrome browser (where I am running the tests from) so I cant see the results unless I re-open the browser manually. How do I stop the browser closing? Thanks Steve |

If you are running tests on the same machine you are using the best way is to use a different browser (Firefox or IE) when running Chrome tests (same when running Firefox tests). The agent nukes all instances of the browser before starting a test to make sure things are clean.

I have 127.0.0.1 open on a Chrome browser, this drives the tests which open and run in IE. The problem is that Chrome & Firefox shut automatically - they never did with urlblast, and it is annoying as I have other work I am doing at the same time that I need to keep open. Steve |

Sorry, the agents are really meant to run on a dedicated machine/VM without other activity going on at the same time. If you want you can build a custom version of the agent that doesn't include the browser terminating code but it's there to keep the OS clean for long term agent testing.

Hi - It must be how wptdriver works compared to urlBlast. I have Chrome open so I can access 127.0.0.1 and run a local test. With urlBlast, the test would open the IE8 browser, run the test, close the IE8 browser, but leave Chrome open all the time so I can see the results. However with wptdriver, it closes the Chrome browser from where I am driving the tests which seems odd. Surely it should leave that open so I can see the progress of the test. I know you also drive from Chrome - is that what happens when you run your tests? Thanks Steve |

RE: The test completed but there were no successful results.
Yes, because URLBlast couldn't run tests with Chrome. When I'm doing dev I usually run load the UI using a different browser or just re-open the closed chrome (since it will restore to it's page). It would be possible to change the code to only close the browser that is being used for the current test but right now I believe the logic closes all of them.
Under normal operation (outside of when I'm doing agent dev work) I don't have the agent running on the same machines that I use for running tests. |
