Comparison of WPT.org and Pingdom testing method
I'm sure I saw a description on the boards here at one time by Patrick of the difference between the way WPT performs it's tests and how Pingdom does theirs.

I know WPT uses an actual browser session and closely imitates a user's Internet connection.

Given that Pingdom's tests are always so much faster, I'm assuming their using some "imitation' of a user Internet connection that is actually a faster, more direct-access pipe.

Can anyone describe (or point me to a source for the info on) the difference between the way these two systems measure?

Thanks

Paul
