Since your using WordPress, this likely relates to multiple plugins writing the same meta descriptions.

Simple way to debug...

1) Disable all plugins.

2) Recheck site using Browser -> View Source -> Search for any offending meta desc google reported.

At this point, you should see zero or one instance.

3) Activate one plugin at a time + redo #2 to determine the offending plugin(s).

4) How you fix this will depend on what turns up in #3.

The way I handle debugging this type of problem, is to clone the live site into a dev site + find/fix problem + deploy fix to live site.

Best to muck about with dev sites, rather than live sites.

Note: Unless you do this type of work every day, your head may explode. Might be best to hire someone familiar with clearing Google Search Console problems.
