Full page visual comparison
Currently, the visual comparison tools (speed index, filmstrip, and video) show completeness above the fold.
It would also be useful to have a look at how the rest of the page loads below the fold (while still maintaining an indicator of where the fold is). I'm sure this is nontrivial, but it would be extremely valuable. Rick Rick Viscomi WPO Engineer jrvis.com |

RE: Full page visual comparison
Yeah, I've tried a couple of different times to capture the full page without much luck. The only technique I have seen publicly is to disable scroll notifications, hide absolute-positioned elements and scroll the page one viewport at a time (a hack I'm not excited about). I'm happy to implement it is someone has ideas for how (though doing it as part of video capture may be too heavy).
Thanks, -Pat |

RE: Full page visual comparison
That was my inclination as well. It sounds like a good challenge, though. When I get some time I'll see if I can get a prototype working in a private instance - will let you know if I make any progress.
