CDN getting an "F" on all locations?

All those FAILED thumb.jpg's were coming from one widget and once I removed it my test results for IE7 were http://www.webpagetest.org/result/100627_K3E/ and IE8 http://www.webpagetest.org/result/100627_K3F/ . Doesn't quite fix the root of the problem, but it helped.

Is there a way to easily improve my text compression? Also, I am not sure why IE7 gives my js and css an "A" and IE8 gives it an "F"...that doesn't make much sense to me at all? I promise that I am going to figure all this stuff out real soon !
