Browser crash with IE8
Not sure if it is official supported with IE on Vista 32-bit or not. I installed and it worked the first time I tried it.
However when I try to start IE8 now it crashes. If I disable the CIEHook Object then IE starts OK. Below is the crash details. RE: Browser crash with IE8
Yep, Vista is supported (I do most of my dev these days on Vista - though 64-bit). Are you using 2.0.0.215? I think there were problems with 200 or 202 and IE8 but it has worked well since then.
It may also be worth seeing what other plugins you have. There may be something that pagetest doesn't get along with (another user had a clash between pagetest and another plugin that resulted in crashes). Does it crash at start-up or when you start pagetest? Thanks, -Pat |

RE: Browser crash with IE8
Thanks Pat. Here are the answers to your questions.
Yes I'm using 2.0.0.215. Yes IE8 crashes at browser startup. I tried disabling other plugins and found that I can start IE8 with either Google Toolbar disabled or your CIEHook disabled so those 2 could be conflicting. Although the browser starts OK now with Google Toolbar disabled I'm not seeing the waterfall or any of the other tabs populated with data like I had when it was working last week. Cheers, Mick |

RE: Browser crash with IE8
Thanks, I'l try some testing with the Google toolbar. Any chance it has any version information (so I can test with the same build)?

RE: Browser crash with IE8
What version do you have installed? (If you can't launch IE to check, go to "program files\aol pagetest" and check the version of pagetest.dll).
What other browser plugins do you have installed? Yes, it is supported on Vista 32-bit (up until last week or so that was even my dev platform). Thanks, -Pat |
