Connection View - no connection initialization - ash - 09-14-2011 05:27 PM In the results: ![]() There is no initialization of connection in third pipe. What does it mean? I see similar results quite often and would like to understand this. Anybody has an idea? Artur RE: Connection View - no connection initialization - LeptienM - 09-14-2011 06:00 PM If this was a test run with IE9, then the answer is here: http://www.belshe.com/2011/02/10/the-era-of-browser-preconnect/ Best wishes, Markus RE: Connection View - no connection initialization - ash - 09-14-2011 06:36 PM No, it was run with IE8, but thanks for the link. I didn't know about this feature of IE9. RE: Connection View - no connection initialization - pmeenan - 09-14-2011 10:15 PM It's REALLY hard to say without knowing more context. If the waterfall is from the second step in a multi-step script then it's also possible that it is re-using a connection from an earlier page load that is still open. If it's from a straight-url test then it would have to be a bug in the capturing (and if you could shoot me a test URL I can try to track it down). Thanks, -Pat |
