Crazy late favicon

The page loads in under 5 seconds, even the javascript and non-essential elements. Then there is a 20 second delay before the favicon loads. I turned off all social media related plugins to realize this test and can't answer the massive load delay. Perhaps someone can provide some insight?

Do you still see it happening? I tried to reproduce it with timeline capture enabled (to see what the browser thought it was doing) but it looks a lot cleaner: http://www.webpagetest.org/result/140818...6fa363336/
