Launching private instance
Hi There
Newbie here and trying to setup a private instance on EC2. Slightly confused by the documentation @ https://sites.google.com/a/webpagetest.o...-instances & https://github.com/WPO-Foundation/webpag...r%20AMI.md The documentation page lists all configuration options as optional except for wpt_server and the github page asks for ec2_key & ec2_secret. Which one is correct? If i do need to provide an ec2_key & secret, can you explain where in my Amazon account will i get this info? I created a key pair, does the ec2_key correspond to the key_pair? Lastly, what's the process of getting key for public instance (webpagetest.org) for running some trial tests? Appreciate the help. Thanks Pranoy |

RE: Launching private instance
The EC2 infor is optional if you don't want the server to dynamically start and stop test agents itself. You can always start them manually, with other code or even run agents not on EC2.
Yes, the ec2_key is the key from the key pair you created. To get a key for the public instance you request it from here: http://www.webpagetest.org/getkey.php |
